Hmmm. I don't think you wished me enough luck now did you? Never mind...
Now, Amna has reliably informed me that she had this with shelf cleaning. I had it with serving at the bar (can't ... sleep ... must serve ... customer). Anyone else? It annoys the hell out of me - the essence of a boring job. I haven't intentionally looked for an explanation, but Carla Speed McNeil talks about something vaguely similar called slow-wave sleep in the notes for Dream Sequence. I don't know if it's the same thing, but it seems to be when you go to sleep and see what you've been seeing all day (or what you were seeing when you went to sleep). I tended to see bar customers sitting in my bedroom patiently waiting for their pints, which sounds about right.

By the way, I will have to go on about Carla Speed McNeil at some point, because Finder is one of the best comics I have ever read, and I love it to bits. For the moment, this is her site www.lightspeedpress.com - go have a look. All her stuff is published, but she has also put some issues up on the web which you can read free in the Reader's Copies section - though the utter greatness of the artwork doesn't show up as well). I especially love Talisman, but that's partially because of my serious identification with the main charcter (which you might not share). Dream Sequence is probably the most immediately interesting. And is also great. Hell, they're all great. Wow, this turned into more of a plug than I meant it to.
