Okay, first let me get this straight. I'm all for sustainable engineering, renewable energy etc. It was half my degree for god's sake. But it annoys they hell out of me when people don't do it properly. Because big companies, they love things to look 'green' because it makes them look good to the public. But looking green is not in any way the same as being green. Like, you could put in loads of funky wind turbines outside and cover the place with solar panels to generate stupidly small amounts of electricity because you've put them in the wrong frigging place. Or you could just insulate the damn place properly, so you're just heating the building and not the whole bloody city. The second option costs half as much and is probably twice as efficient, but they don't want it! Because no-one will notice! They want the public to see their pointless wind turbine and go 'Oooo, aren't they good!'. Okay, I know, everyone knows that most companies don't give a damn about what things actually do, and only about how they look - but this is my goddamn subject and it pisses me off!
