Who would have thought it? They looked so innocent. But they were hiding an unspeakable evil. Yes, it was the lemons all the time! I really should clean the fridge more often. We've had problems before but this was ridiculous. I'd been wondering what that weird smell was for ages but there didn't seem to be anything causing it. I started getting paranoid that refridgerant was leaking into the fridge and slowly poisoning us both. But it turns out I was just an idiot - if I had actually picked up the bag of perfectly normal looking lemons a week ago, I would have seen the disgusting green squidgy fungus growing thing hiding at the back. Thank God for small mercies, that when I did finally find it, I didn't put my thumb in it by accident (it's happened before, oh yes).
