Scene 7 - The O.W.R.

You know, I've been singing in a choir (of one sort or another) on and off since I was in middle school. But Thursday night was the first time I have ever actually sat down and listened to the piece I'm supposed to be singing while trying to follow it with the score. This is really because I can't actually read music. Or rather, I know what things mean, but if anyone pointed to a note and said 'sing that' then I wouldn't stand a chance in hell of hitting the right one. So, never bothered doing this before - which was stupid, because it was really amazingly useful and interesting. I have a good memory for music, and I tend to memorize things and get to know them instinctively rather than understanding them properly (I can't talk about music at all). Still, when I tried this I could actually work out what was going on in a way I'm not sure I've managed before - like, why things were happening in certain places, and how things were repeating even in the ridulously complicated bits.

So, yeah. If only I had the time to do stuff like that on a regular basis. But no, I have to draw comics for you people (yes, all you people in my head. You know who you are).
