I've never had a local anaesthetic before. That was weird. Why does it make you feel like the whole of your face is swollen up? I’ve managed to get away with not having any proper fillings before – unlike the Gerard whose teeth are out to get him as far as I can tell (he had fourteen removed when he was little. Fourteen). Still, it comes to us all eventually. I can’t say I enjoyed the bone grinding feeling, though for some reason I kept wanting to laugh. I thought I better not. I liked the way she said ‘if you feel any pain, let me know’. Well, I wasn’t going to, but I guess if you really want me to tell you. Is a scream okay?
