What a week. Sorry if this isn't very coherent...
I am still not exactly used to full-time work - especially when it involves climbing up a thirty five foot pole for training purposes (it all made so much sense at the time). I've yet to unpack properly, even though I've only got a quarter of my stuff up here. The main job is putting up my posters, which is always a pretty epic undertaking - I can't quite face it yet. Also managed to tell a few people that I had a website, but then was faced with the awkward situation of them wanting the address to they could, y'know, look at it... 'Wait, what? No way! You're not allowed to see it! God, what's the matter with you people?'. I got over it eventually, but it was still a bit of a wrench to actually tell them. I mean, anthro. fantasy with vague detective leanings isn't exactly a hugely popular genre. What if they decided I was some kind of psycho-freak-nutjob and decided to hunt me down with machine guns? It could happen.

The weekend involved more running about. Went home to go to a great bonfire night fireworks display (complete with that end bit where they apparently realise that 'Sexy Fireworks Babes do Paris' is on in two minutes but they still have loads of fireworks left - 'Fuck it, I know, just send them all up at once, yeah, that'll work' - and the entire audience collapses from sensory overload).

Also, went to a Neil Gaiman book signing! Yeah, I actually saw him! He was right there, and he wrote in my book and everything! Of course, I couldn't think of a damn thing to say to the guy, but that was probably a good thing (chances of coming up with anything original but non-crazy sounding? Zero). Thanks to Gerard, Amy, Shawn and Michael who were there too and made queueing a whole lot more entertaining than it should have been. I was annoyed though, because I completely forgot to bring up any of his books - the ones I already own that is - so I could only get him to sign the new one. Oh well, whatever. Now I'm absolutely knackered and I have to go to work tomorrow. Smashing!
