I love comics. And I want you to love them too. Which is why you have to have a look at this list and find at least one new comic to fall in love with. Unless you read them all already of course, in which case I guess I'll let you off. Clearly bad links would make this page pretty redundant, so if you spot any please email me at kaspall(at)xepher(dot)net. I guess I should also say that not all these links will be for the under 18s? I've never been very good at giving things ratings. If you would like to link me (and I would be very happy if you did): Kaspall buttons and banners can be found here. |

| JUMP TO: | Short Form | Miscellaneous |
Long FormThese are continuous storylines, so I recommend starting from the beginning with all of them. |
![]() Gunnerkrigg Court: An increasingly complex and intriguing fantasy set at an odd school. |
![]() Brink: Possibly insane people on a possibly insane treatment program. The art matches the subject perfectly. |
![]() Finder: Read this. Seriously. Tagged as aboriginal SF, and unlike anything else. Though note: only the currently playing story is available in full. |
![]() Gothbunnies: Great fun story - three siblings cope with walking plants, magic and an untrustworthy neighbour. |
![]() Girl Genius: Great art, guaranteed updates and an insane gaslamp fantasy storyline. What's not to like? |
![]() Templar Arizona: A city worth exploring. Go and pay a visit. |
![]() Lackadaisy: Oh man, so pretty. Loads of genuine 1920s glamour and illicit booze, with cats. |
![]() Crimson Dark: Joss Whedon style sci-fi, with nice 3D art. |
![]() Galaxion: Intelligent and optimistic sci-fi in space, with a likeable cast of characters. |
![]() Crowfeathers: The wild west, mixed with fantasy and horror. But no longer updating. |
![]() File 49: Book 1 complete, Book 2 ongoing. Conspiracies, kids with powers and a sarcastic, telepathic drunk guy. |
![]() Megatokyo: Gamer comic crossed with shojo manga. Plus, Godzilla and stuff. |
![]() Kismet: Hunter's Moon: Complete to read online. Sci-fi with great characters, ideas and plot. Highly recommended. |
![]() A Divine Dramedy: Complete to read online. Young thespians make the most of the afterlife. |
![]() A Miracle of Science: Complete to read online. A mad-sci-fi where my favourite character is a planet. |
![]() Antihero For Hire: Vigilante super-heroism crossed with budget constraints. |
![]() The Phoenix Requiem: A quiet fantasy with gorgeous filmic art and a vaguely Russian-ish setting. |
![]() 8:1: A straight-told story about being lost in your twenties, with characters I'd like to hang out with. |
![]() Starslip Crisis: What happens when sci-fi and art theory collide, plus at least one gag per day. |
![]() Drawn Bad: The art may not be perfect, but a nicely disturbing story makes up for that. |
The Adventures of Dr. McNinja Dr. McNinja: The ninja pirate dinosaur mexican doctor comic. |
![]() Code Name: Hunter: Entertaining action / fantasy adventures, as two agents deal with magic and politics. |
![]() Cheap Thrills: A funny and honest story of some American teens. |
![]() Sunset Grill: A futuristic Earth - as viewed from a bar on the wrong side of town. |
Sin Titulo Sin Titulo: If David Lynch ever made a webcomic, it might come out a bit like this. |
![]() The Meek: 'Girl with powers must save the world' does not make this sound as interesting as it is. |
![]() Order of Tales: A wonderfully strange group of characters, in a wonderfully strange land. |
![]() Serenity Rose: There are only 57 witches in the world. Serenity Rose is not quite the gothiest. |
![]() Bite Me: Vampires, comedy and the French Revolution - it's a wonderful combination. |
  | ||
Short FormThese are all made up of single comic strips or comics made up of stand-alone pages. Okay, some of them have regular characters, but it's quite easy to jump into the middle of the archives. |
![]() Copper: A boy and his dog wander around the most gorgeous and bizarre landscapes you'll see in a while. |
![]() Wondermark: Victorian illustrations with not so Victorian dialogue. |
![]() Cat and Girl: Often thoughtful, often political, often downright silly. Often all at once. |
![]() Thingpart: A photo comic strip with a disturbing atmosphere all of it's own. |
![]() Perfect Stars: Great use of colour (hand inked and everything!) and unexpected jokes. |
![]() Thingpart: A weird joke every Wednesday. |
![]() A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversible: Permanently on hiatus, but well worth reading if you haven't yet. |
![]() Joe Loves Crappy Movies: Love the strips, love the reviews, have wasted far too much time on the back catalogue drop-down. |
![]() Hark, a Vagrant: I like to think historical figures really did behave like this. PS I love this comic read it now. |
![]() Basic Instructions: All the instructions you'll ever need to make the least out of life. |
MicellaneousThey all have some story arcs or on-going plot elements, but some have a fair amount of single page stuff as well. Generally I'd say if the archive is grouped in story arcs, then start at the beginning of one and you'll probably be all right. Probably. |
![]() Dresden Codak: Giant, gorgeous, weird, funny; I want to print them all out just so I can look at them properly. |
![]() Scary Go Round: Do I really need to tell you to read this? Surely you're reading it already? |
![]() E-merl: A wide selection of extraordinary webcomics. Brain Fist is still a big favourite - now complete. |
![]() Minus: A girl with limitless powers causes strange havoc. Gorgeous water-colour art. |
![]() Beaver and Steve: They have extremely bizarre, funny, brightly coloured adventures. |
![]() Achewood: Funny but unsettling storylines with stupidly well-written characters. |
![]() Rob and Elliot: Two-mismatched-guys-sharing-a-flat, but good. Very entertaining nonsense. |
![]() Joe and Monkey: I wish I had Joe's general enthusiasm for awesome things, and a friend who was a monkey. |
![]() Sconeborough: A housemates type strip, with nice art and British TV show references. |
![]() Maxwell the Demon: Traditional hellfire, but with a modern business attitude and a nice suit. |
![]() Pear Pear: Silent adventures of a pear and coffee mug. Requires some interpretation, but is well worth it. |
![]() Pictures For Sad Children: A depressing view on life, but told in an appealing way. |
![]() Multiplex: Entertaining sitcom with lots of discussion about movies ... or vice versa. |
The Secret Knots The Secret Knots: Quiet and a little melancholy. |
Gone With The Blastwave Gone With The Blastwave: War at its most pointless and depressing. But also funny. |
![]() Think Before You Think: Reading people's minds makes things as complicated as you would imagine. |
